Viitasaari is a city (since 1996) in the province of Central Finland. The city borders Kannonkoski and Kivijärvi to the west, Kinnula to the northwest, Pihtipudas to the north, Keitele to the east, Vesanto to the southeast and Äänekoski to the south. Viitasaari has about 6,411 inhabitants and is monolingual Finnish. The municipality has an area of 1,589.13 km², of which the land area is 1,248.48 km².

1. Koljatti Nature Trails
The Goliath Rock Area is a nature reserve known especially for its spectacular, vertical cliff.
Koljatti is located about 13 km from the center of Viitasaari, west of Nelostie. About seven kilometers west of the intersection on the south side of the Hännilänsalmi bridge is the asphalt-blue Blue Road. From the blue road there is a guide to the parking area and the starting point of the nature trail. This section of two about two kilometers is a dirt road that can be difficult to navigate in winter and during heavy weather.
The 16.5-hectare area, which offers great scenery, has a diverse flora of rocks, lush creek stalks and ravens. 2. Viitasaari Church
Viitasaari Church is the main church of the Viitasaari Evangelical Lutheran Congregation on Viitasaari in Central Finland. The church is located in Haapasaari, south of the city center. The church was completed in 1878 next to the cemetery established in 1877.
The first church in Viitasaari parish was located in Viitasaari, as were the next two churches. The first church was built around 1600. The island is called the Old Church Island. There is also the oldest cemetery in Viitasaari, founded in the 1590s. The island is also home to the old town of Viitasaari. The following churches were built on the same site in 1653 and 1777. 3. Viitasaari Forestry Museum
The Savivuori outdoor area, located in the Viitasaari urban area, has a Forestry Museum. The main object of the museum is a forest cabin. The Väljänpökö forest cabin, originally built by Metsähallitus in the Seläntaus forest area in 1940, was moved to Savivuori in 1964. The older, original cabin crew room has been preserved. Savutupa is the croft of the Laaja farm in the village of Vuoskoski, which was moved to Savivuori in 1957.
