二、自然地理
1.地理条件
The landscape in Karkkila is quite varied and the terrain is uneven throughout. Nevertheless, the city area can be divided into three fairly distinct parts. The northwestern corner is connected to the Tammela plateau, but even more clearly the western part of the city resembles its neighbor, the former municipality of Pusula. Near the border of the current city of Lohja is an extensive moraine-covered Mäkimaa area, where due to the fracture lines of the bedrock, the direction of the hills is clearly northwest to southeast. Here is also the highest terrain in the province of Uusimaa, Loukkumäki, which extends 174 meters above sea level.
In the central part of Karkkila, the hills are steeper, but the average altitude of the terrain decreases as you move towards the southern boundary of the city. In the eastern and northeastern part, the area of the city extends to the Second Salpausselä, where the direction of the sand and gravel ridges is from southwest to northeast, ie in contrast to the western part of Karkkila. In its northern part, Karkkila is rich in lakes, although the lakes are mostly quite small. The largest lakes are Pyhäjärvi on the west side of the city center, Vaskijärvi on the northeast and Onkimaanjärvi on the northwest corner on the border of Tammela and Lope. In the southern part of the city, on the other hand, there are no lakes at all. Most of Karkkila belongs to the Vanjoki or Karjaanjoki watershed, which starts from Pyhäjärvi. At its beginning, the Koskinen River initially flows in a narrow but downstream valley towards Vanjärvi on the Vihti side. In the village of Siikala there is a boulder called the "Lord's Table", which was pacified as a natural monument in 1962.
2.交通情况
There are numbered boat berths on the shores of Lake Pyhäjärvi, but at the moment everyone is booked. More berths have been made to the berth during the spring of 2018, as there have been people in the queue interested in renting a berth. Vacancies and new berths can be inquired from the Service Point Server. The berths are located near the Vattolantie carpet washing places along the coastal road.

3. The Karkkila-Högfors Workers' Museum
The Karkkila-Högfors Workers' Museum is an open-air museum area in the Fagerkulla district, which tells about the living conditions and living conditions of the people of Ruukki in the 1850s and 1990s. The old residential buildings that have remained in their original places have been decorated with workers' homes from different decades. There is a summer café in Fagerkulla's former bakery, Pakari. The Workers' Museum is open from 16 June to 8 August. Wed-Sun 12-16.
Note! The museum is open to groups at other times by appointment all year round (tel. 09-4258 3672). Visiting address: Vanha Fagerkullantie, The oldest surviving building in the Fagerkulla museum area is Mäntylä, which was originally the croft of the Kark farm. The building was moved to Fagerkulla in 1870 as an apartment for two ironworks families. Another apartment with a living room and a chamber in Mäntylä has a mid-19th century workers' apartment. The house has unpainted wooden floors, no curtains were used on the windows at that time, and no carpets were kept on the floors. Mäntylä's dwelling also tells how the food industry coped with relatively few and modest household goods at that time; the most important utensils were the Iron Pot and the frying pan, the serving utensils were wooden plates and earthenware utensils. Wooden spoons were used as cutlery. However, coffee was already an important beverage, as the residents of the house had a priest, i.e. a coffee roaster, a coffee pot and a few pairs of coffee cups. Wooden tools such as planers and drills are on display in the living room, as some of the crockery and furniture were made by yourself. The second Mäntylä living room features an apartment from the early 1990s, which tells of a time when most of the workforce had moved out of the area, and the city-owned Fagerkulla rental apartments had mostly left men living alone.

六、历史文化
1.历史
Originally, Karkkila was a village in Pyhäjärvi Ul, which was the chapel parish of Vihti. Pyhäjärvi became independent in 1869. In 1932, the current downtown area of Karkkila was separated from Pyhäjärvi Ul into Karkkila. The Kauppala area consisted mainly of the villages of Nyhkälä and Karkkila. Karkkila and Pyhäjärvi Ul merged in 1969 to become Karkkila, which in 1977 became a city. Karkkila's name is derived from the Germanic first name Gericke, Kercho or Garko.
The Högfors blast furnace is the frontier of Karkkila's history. It was completed in 1822, when Högfors Ironworks was established on the edge of Korkeakoski for ore processing. The raw material was obtained from the nearby Kulosuonmäki iron mine. With the factory, Karkkila grew into a distinctive industrial city with a strong tradition of the labor movement. Politically, Karkkila has been a strong leftist; for example, during the 1969-1972 term, 12 of the delegates represented the Democrats, five the Social Democrats and ten the bourgeoisie.
The growth and industrialization of the city has also been influenced by the narrow-gauge Hyvinkää – Karkkila railway. After the closure of the railway, one of the locomotives used on the track and two train carriages were a monument in the city center, where they fell at the mercy of the weather and vandalism. The locomotive is now on display in the renovated lobby of the town hall. Connections from Karkkila to Helsinki improved considerably after the completion of Highway 2 in the late 1950s. Karkkila was already along the trade route of the ancient people of Häme. The people and products of the provinces met in the past in Karkkila market square. In summer, Karkkila Market is still a popular destination. In June 1967, the Government made a decision to join Pyhäjärvi Ul to Karkkila at the beginning of 1969. Simultaneously with the municipal association, the name of the parish was changed to Karkkila parish.
Today, Karkkila is a city marked by the metal industry, surrounded by rural villages. There are also many small companies, many of which also act as subcontractors to the metal industry. One of the largest companies in the city is Helvar, a subcontractor to the lighting industry.
In the 1990s, Karkkila, like many cities, ran into major economic difficulties, which Lex Karkkila was designed to solve.
