The landscape of Lapua is dominated by extensive field plains of river valleys. To the east and southeast towards Suomenselkä, the share of the forest in the landscape is growing. The marshes of Lapua are for the most part primarily marshy, ie the land exposed under ice and water immediately began to marsh. Swamps are usually bogs. The bell has been taken by plowing abundantly into the crop. By burning the surface, a raw layer of peat was obtained into more nutritious layers. At the same time, part of the surface layer material was made available to crops. Utilization was common in Lapua, especially in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

二、自然地理
1.地理条件
Lapua is located along the Lapuanjoki River. The landscape of Lapua, located in the middle of the Southern Ostrobothnia area, is dominated by extensive riverside plains and in some places the hills that rise clearly above its surroundings. Lapua is located in a zone where the slate zone of Western Finland changes into a single granite zone along the coast. The bedrock is usually gneiss (migmatic biotite plagioclase genesis or plagioclasignee), granite or quartzite. The most common soil types are peat and moraine. There is a little less clay. There are few coarser mineral paints such as sand and sand. They usually occur in large, fairly thin layers, or clay is deposited on them.
The terrain is fairly flat, but in Lapua it rises gradually from northwest to southeast. When the lowest parts of the cultivation plain in Hellanmaa are at a height of 26 m, the marshes of the Pettuvuori region are considerable in some places. Lapua's highest elevation Simpsiö mountain rises 132 m above sea level and just over 100 m above its surroundings. The height of the mountain is due to its wear-resistant rock type, quartzite.
The most significant of Lapua's water bodies is the Lapuanjoki. it originates in the Suomenselä area and descends to the Gulf of Bothnia at Uusikaarlepyy. The length of the river is about 165 km and its catchment area is 2,995m².
Because there are few lakes in the watershed and they are also small, the river is quite sensitive to rainfall. Due to the shallows and flat shorelines of the Lapuanjoki River, the floods previously affected very large areas. At the time of the floods, the landscape might resemble an archipelago with alternating wooded mounds and watery marshes. Especially downstream from the center of Lapua, a lot of flood protection work has been done on the river. The Mäkelänkoski and Hourunkoski hydropower plants have been built on the river in Lapua. The Nurmonjoki originates from the Nurmo area of Seinäjoki and joins the Lapuanjoki near the center of Lapua. Other rivers are the Kauhavanjoki, Tiistenjoki, Lakaluoma, Tiisipuro and Löyhinginluoma.
The largest of the lakes is the Hirvijärvi artificial lake, only part of which is in the Lapua city area. The artificial lake has an area at an average water level of 1,530 hectares and was built as part of the Lapuanjoki flood protection water management system. A power plant has also been built in connection with the reservoir. The largest of the natural lakes is Kauhajärvi in the northeast corner of the city. Other lakes are Tiisijärvi and Hirvijärvi. The lakes are quite shallow.
2. 交通情况
The nearest airport to Lapua is Kokkola/Pietarsaari (KOK). However, there are better options for getting to Lapua. Härmän Liikenne Oy operates a bus from Vaasa matkakeskus to Lassilantie-Simpsiötori 5 times a week, and the journey takes 1h 43m. Alternatively, Finnish Railways (VR) operates a train from Kruunupyy to Lapua once daily. Tickets cost $19 - $29 and the journey takes 49 min. Lapua city has its web pages including also tourist information and local guidance services. It is definitely better to take a local guide from the area than from Helsinki as they can give you much more local information about Lapua and probably can arrange the local transportation for you. See: http://www.lapua.fi/web/?lang=en
As the train trip takes quite a long time (close to 4 hours/direction) a quicker option is to take 1 hour flights from Helsinki to Seinäjoki (35 km from Lapua) and back. The prices are quite reasonable. See: http://www.fc.fi/home.html

四、产业特点重点项目
Lapua is also home to a large ammunition factory, which commenced operations in 1927 as the State Cartridge Factory. This factory was the primary supplier of ammunition to the Finnish Army during the Winter War and World War II. An explosion occurred in a warehouse of this factory on 13 April 1976, resulting in the deaths of 40 employees, mainly women. Sixty children lost a parent in the disaster. This is the worst accidental disaster in Finland's modern history. After the explosion, the factory was relocated 5 kilometres (3 mi) away from the town centre and continues production today as part of the Nordic Ammunition Group (Nammo) as Nammo Lapua. The original site of the factory and the surviving buildings are now an arts centre, a library and a theater.

六、历史文化
1.历史
In the early 14th century, permanent settlement began to spread to the Lapuanjoki Valley. Residents came from, among other areas, the settlement center of Suur-Sastamala in Upper Satakunta, which had good land and water connections to the north. The focus of Ostrobothnia's settlement was initially on the lower reaches of the Kyrönjoki River. The proximity to the sea of the Kvarken area, which is rich in natural resources, was especially attractive. Lapua at that time had some Lapps who considered the region their wilderness area. The name Lapuan was probably given by the coastal Swedes precisely because of the Lapps who lived in the area.
The Battle of Lapua was fought between Swedish and Russian forces near the outskirts of the town on 14 July 1808 as part of the Finnish War. Lapua is the seat of the Evangelical Lutheran Diocese of Lapua. The Lapua Cathedral, designed by Carl Ludvig Engel, was built in 1827. In the 1930s the radical anti-communist Lapua Movement was founded and named after the town.
