V.Attractions

1.Saint-Jean-Baptiste church

5.png

The Saint-Jean-Baptiste church was built in the fourteenth century. In 1986, during a restoration, a fresco dating from the Middle Ages was brought to light behind the high altar. It is currently slightly masked by a thin white film and the high altar which has taken its place. The fresco represents Christ in Majesty with two figures in prayer position. Outside the church, you can see two empty sarcophagi dating from the Middle Ages. A veyrine was pierced in a wall of the church and was condemned. The parish of Canéjan is now attached to that of Cestas.

2.The old town hall and the school

6.png

The old town hall and the school to which it was built, dating from 1872-1873 and considered too small, became the Espace Mosaic located in the center of the village. A town hall was built not far from there in 1988. The Hôtel-de-Ville park is located on the town's former football field. The excavation in which this park is built recalls the edges of the land, the banks of which, going up towards the level of the road, were used as terraces.

3.The Green Lake

7.png

The Green Lake leisure center was inaugurated on November 5, 1996 on the site of a disused gravel quarry located at a place called Le Camp. The 12-hectare lake is a sporting fishing spot as well as a site popular with walkers and joggers.

VI.History

Gallo-Roman remains discovered on the territory of the town attest to a human presence around the end of the 1st century or the beginning of the 2nd century.

Under the forecourt of the current church, Merovingian sarcophagi are preserved. The parish cemetery surrounded the church until it was moved in the 1890s.

In the Middle Ages, the site of Camparian, between the towns of Cestas and Canéjan, contained a priory and a hospital. The last prior died in Camparian shortly before the Revolution. The priory of Camparian is sold as National Property and becomes an agricultural property until the 1960s. Today, the site is municipal. An archaeological excavation campaign was conducted by the DRAC-Aquitaine. The chapel and its sacristy have been discovered. A building, called a monastery, has also been excavated, but remains from medieval times are rare.

Until 1789, the parish of Canéjan belonged to the county of Ornon, under the jurisdiction of the jurade of Bordeaux. The jurats of Bordeaux had a reserved bench in the church of Canéjan. In 1791, these badges disappeared from the benches by decision of the municipal council of Bordeaux, the jurade having disappeared.

The commune of Canéjan was created in February 1790. It belongs to the canton of extra-muros Bordeaux then to the canton of Pessac.

On August 20, 1949, 29 men from Canéjan died in Puch (commune of Cestas) while fighting against the fire which claimed 82 victims and devastated 28,000 hectares. In September 1949, General de Gaulle came to Canéjan to meditate on the graves of the 29 missing in the town. At that time, Canéjan was a village with less than 500 inhabitants, and Sud Ouest Dimanche on September 4 called "IN CANÉJAN-LA-DESOLÉE the village of widows and orphans

Canéjan in Transition

The law of August 17, 2015 relating to the energy transition for green growth is a law of "action and mobilization" which engages the entire country: citizens, companies, territories, public authorities. It will allow France to strengthen its energy independence, reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and give everyone concrete tools to accelerate green growth. The objective is to increase the installed capacity of renewable energies by 50% by 2023.

In accordance with its previous commitments to commit its territory to sustainable development, Canéjan has decided to include its public policies in an objective of "Energy transition".

TOWARDS THE ENERGY TRANSITION ...

The "energy transition" is a concept often used to designate the gradual abandonment of certain energies (fossil, sometimes nuclear) together with the development of other energies (renewable), accompanied in particular by energy efficiency actions. Born in the 1980s in Germany, the concept of energy transition is part of a context of greater consideration of environmental and climatic issues.

In addition to this environmental aspect, the energy transition integrates an economic and social dimension and tends overall towards a more “sustainable” energy system in the sense of “sustainable development” defined in the Brundtland report of 1987 of the World Commission on Environment and Development. of ONU.

The concept of energy transition translates differently depending on the country where it is undertaken (with a proper balance between environmental, economic and social dimensions). In France, the energy transition law for green growth adopted in the summer of 2015 is written into the desire to promote an “environment-friendly mode of economic development, both low-energy and efficient in terms of energy and consumption. resources and carbon, socially inclusive, supporting the potential for innovation and guaranteeing the competitiveness of companies ”.

In terms of the energy mix, this law sets, among other things, as quantified objectives:

1)a reduction in primary consumption of fossil fuels by 30% by 2030 compared to 2012;

2)a rise in renewable energies (RE) so that the share of the latter in final energy consumption reaches 23% in 2020 and 32% in 2030.

What is the energy transition?

The energy transition is an ecological objective which consists of a change from the current energy system towards a new energy system based on renewable resources. This mainly consists of reducing the consumption of fossil fuels in a large part of human activities: transport, lighting, etc.

Stakes

The energy transition also implies a change in energy policy while contributing to better energy efficiency, here are the main challenges:

1)Protect the climate and health

2)Promote energy independence and limit geopolitical tensions related to energy

3)Decrease overall consumption

4)Decentralize energy production

5)Gradually develop ecological solutions (wind power, solar energy, biomass, etc.)

Some examples of municipal actions

1)Renewal of the public lighting park;

2)Public lighting goes out from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.

3)Installation of thermal photovoltaic panels at the Town Hall;

4)Development of allotment gardens (phase I);

This project ensures strict compliance with the complementarity between collective reception structures and the offer currently offered by childminders present in the area.

La procédure de délégation de service public

Principle of recourse to a public service delegation (DSP) for the management of the "Childcare" service:

The City Council deliberated on October 2, 2017 to retain the principle of resorting to the DSP for the management of this service. On October 16, 2017, the concession notice calling for applications was published. 11 applications were received within the time limit and approved by the Public Service Delegation Commission (CDSP) in view of the files submitted. These 11 candidates will therefore be the recipients of the draft concession contract, which is currently being finalized.

Update on the state of play of the Public Service Delegation (DSP) procedure for the management of the childcare service (as of 12/15/2018):

At its meeting on October 25, the Public Service Delegation Committee examined the proposals submitted by the 7 candidates who submitted an offer under the public service delegation procedure for the management and operation of the structure. multi-child care. On the basis of the analysis report drawn up by the company Espelia, the Commission issued a favorable opinion allowing the executive authority to enter into negotiations with 5 candidates. These negotiation meetings took place on November 28.

The main stages of the procedure:

1)Following the 1st phase of negotiations, the ESPELIA firm carried out an analysis of the improved offers submitted by the candidates.

2)The deliberation on the choice of the delegate and the authorization of the executive to sign the contract was adopted on July 11, 2019.
