Vordingborg is an old ferry town in Vordingborg Municipality in Denmark. It has an inner urban area including the satellite towns Ørslev, Nyråd and Stensved. These satellite towns have evolved during the last decades, due to three large estates surrounding Vordingborg and therefore prevented a collective development of the town.
Vordingborg is situated 37 km from Nykøbing Falster, roughly 50 km from Gedser, and roughly 100 km from Copenhagen and Odense. The town is situated on the island of Zealand and is linked to the island of Falster with Farø Bridges and Storstrøm Bridge.

The Unesco Biosphere Reserve Mön holds 84 out of the 105 plant species described, thus emphasizing the importance of the area for nature conservation.

The harbor provides all necessary service facilities and permits effective passage 24/7 and in all weather conditions. The port is less than 2 hours drive from Copenhagen International Airport. It will be possible to place an airfield and a warehouse for helicopters near the O&M building. 四、产业特点重点项目
Vordingborg Harbor will be developed into a major regional commercial port and transport center. The port is in a positive development and has great potential to remain a growth engine for the Municipality of Vordingborg and South Zealand. In this connection, a master plan for the port has been drawn up in recent years. The purpose of the master plan, accompanied by the strategic plan, is to describe focus areas for the next 5 years in order to maintain the positive development and further develop the potential.
The strategy forms the basis for the direction of the Port of Vordingborg in the coming years and serves as a working tool for the Port Authority and the Port Administration. Furthermore, the strategy must be used to make the port's vision visible to the port's customers, the Municipality of Vordingborg and the local community.
The port's development strategy consists of headings of the following focus areas:
Port expansion in 4 stages, which will mean new port areas on existing land.
Expanding the sailing and floating pool to -10.4 meters, which will significantly optimize the sailing channel.
Development / expansion in a sustainable way, where existing material from the port is recycled for, among other things. filling new quay area.
Saving economy operation and / or plant 10%, i.a. due to the focus on recycling.
20% less CO2 emissions (plant / operation) due to a more environmentally friendly conversion.
Further expansion of the port based on land recovery (Stage 4).
At the Port of Vordingborg are a number of companies dealing with grain and feed, fertilizers, raw materials and other bulk products.
MBT
Masnedø Bulk Terminal (MBT) is a joint venture with DLG. MBT is the newest terminal in the Copenhagen Merchants Group.
The terminal at the Port of Vordingborg mainly deals with the export of grain, but also handles the import of feed and other bulk products.
DLG has had a grain terminal at Masnedø since 2001. Therefore, it was also obvious to look at the development opportunities of our existing facilities when the thoughts about a port expansion of the Port of Vordingborg were launched.
The decisive factor for MBT's investment was the depth to 10.4 meters. This means that we can transport grain and feed on the very large vessels. But equally important is the geographical location of the port. Here Vordingborg Harbor is perfectly located in relation to the markets we trade with.
The attractive development plans at the Port of Vordingborg resulted in DLG entering into a joint venture with Copenhagen Merchants under the name Masnedø Bulkterminal (MBT), and we are now soon aiming to establish Denmark's largest grain terminal. A massive investment that has also helped secure the expansion of the port.
STONE AND GRAVEL
Sten and Grus Prøvestenen A / S has a department located at Vordingborg Harbor on Masnedø. The location is favorable because it is easy to reach most of the Zealand area, and with the expansion of the Port of Vordingborg, since spring 2016, the company has an area of 25,000 m2.
The extension of the port facilities with more berths, greater water depth and appropriate access conditions makes the driving time to most of central, western and southern Zealand short.

The Goose Tower lies in Vordingborg. It is Denmark’s best preserved castle tower, and represents one of Vordingborg’s main landmarks. Once, Vordingborg was a political and military centre of power and legendary kings. Valdemar I (i.e. Valdemar the Great), Valdemar II and Valdemar IV all reigned in the castle. The first castle was built in the 1160’s. In 1241, the so-called Codex Holmiensis, i.e. the Danish Code of Jutland, was signed in Vordingborg. In the 1360’s, Valdemar IV built the famous Goose Tower which still stands to this very day as part of Vordingborg Castle. The castle was the country's largest royal castle and the Goose Tower remains as just one of the castle's nine towers.
The golden goose on top of the tower was put there to make fun of the German Hanseatic League. Back then, the Hanseatic League was at war with King Valdemar IV. He teased them by claiming that he was more afraid of a bunch of cackling geese than of the entire German League.
On the 3 hectar big and beautiful castle yard in the middle of Vordingborg, you can still see the remainings of the 710 meter long and 8 meter high ringwall which surrounded Denmarks most important castle in the 14th century - with the Goose Tower from around 1365 as the best preserved part.
Several kings have had their residence here. This is where the first constitution was signed and where the kingdom of Denmark was reunited after years of divisive during Valdemar the Great (1157-1182)
