The Roskilde Cathedral
Address: Domkirkepladsen 3, 4000 Roskilde
The Roskilde Cathedral is located in the heart of the town of Roskilde on the island of Zealand in eastern Denmark. The Cathedral of Roskilde is not only worth a visit for its magnificent architecture and magnificent interiors, but also for its historical significance. For the cathedral has been the burial church of the Danish royal family since the 15th century, with numerous side chapels and canopies, which have been cultivated over the centuries. In addition, the cathedral is the first gothic cathedral ever to be built of brick and contributed greatly to the spread of brick Gothic throughout northern Europe. The cathedral was built in the 12th and 13th centuries and has Gothic as well as Romanesque architectural features. Until the 20th century, it was the only cathedral in Zealand. The two elegant towers dominate the skyline of the city. In 1995 Roskilde Cathedral was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The cathedral is an important part of Danish history and attracts more than 125,000 visitors annually as one of Roskilde's biggest tourist attractions. According to legend, Harald Bluetooth, who was able to unite all the Danes under a crown for the first time, built the first church on a hill above Roskilde back in 985 - which, however, has not been scientifically proven to date. The actual construction of the cathedral began in the 1170s. Since then, 21 Danish kings and 17 queens have been buried in the cathedral, including the legendary King Harald Bluetooth.
六、历史文化
Høje-Taastrup Municipality was established in 1970 by merging the old parish municipality of Høje-Taastrup with Reerslev Sogn (from Reerslev-Vindinge Municipality) and Fløng Sogn (from Hvedstrup-Fløng Municipality) and a smaller area from Roskilde Commune. Following fierce protests, the Municipality of Sengelös in 1974 was incorporated into the municipality, which today consists of 14 old villages and three station villages from originally three different gentlemen.
The parish churches all date from the Romanesque period. The churches in Høje Taastrup and Fløng are built of boulders and in Bedless of boulders. In Reerslev Church , erected by chalk stone squares, there are frescoes from about 1475. As a result of population growth, a branch church was built in Hedehusene, Ansgarkirken in 1921, and in 1918 Taastrup Nykirke Sogn with church from 1907-08 was separated from the main parish. In 1976, Rønnevang Parish with a newly built church was separated from Taastrup Nykirke Parish
The main farm Cathrine Berg can be traced back to 1100 t., As it called Booty Borg belonged Hvideslægten. It was named after Cathrine Sehested (d. 1670), who in 1661 brought it by marriage to Hans Ahlefeldt (d. 1694). He expanded it by closing down the villages of Rårup and Holme.
In 1704, astronomer Ole Rømer built his Observatory Tusculanum in 1704. In 1979 the Ole Rømer Museum opened here, since 2002 Kroppedal .
During the community, the villages had the characteristic East Zealand twin-use farm with back gardens; however, in Fløng, Soderup and Marbjerg there were three-fold use. The land guild was predominantly barley. Church institutions owned a large part of the farms in the area during the Middle Ages. After the Reformation, they switched to University of Copenhagen, the Magistrate and Vartov Hospital. The change in the area happened over a long period: from Baldersbrønde in 1778 to Kallerup in 1800.
JP Langgaard bought in 1847 a couple of home-grown places south of Sengelös and founded Hakkemose Brickworks, which for a period in the 1870s was Denmark's largest brickworks. The brickwork closed in 1915 when the deposits of clay were depleted. Two other brickworks, Klovtofte Brickworks (1895-1957) and Hedehusene Brickworks (1896-1970), continued. Intensive utilization of the natural raw materials also occurred from Hedehus Grusgrav (1892), now the recreation area Hedeland, and Nymølle Skærvefabrik (1894).
Throughout the area there have always been important traffic connections: the old road from Copenhagen to Roskilde, Christian IV's Kongevej from 1642, the "new" Roskildevej from 1772, which together with the Taastrup-Køge road, built in 1788, was the main traffic year until the Holbæk motorway was constructed in 1960. In addition, in 1847, the Copenhagen-Roskilde railway came with stations in Taastrup and Hedehusene.
