Frøslev camp's Museum
Address: Lejrvejen 105, 6330 Padborg, Denmark
Frøslev camp was built as a German internment camp in 1944 during the German occupation of Denmark. Several thousands of Danes were in the camp as prisoners of the German Security Police.
Although the Frøslev camp was built to avoid deportations of Danes to concentration camps in Germany, approx. 1,600 Seedling catches, against all agreements, passed on to the horrors of German kz camps.
The seed camp is very special in the European context. The Germans accepted that the Danish prison system was responsible for the care of the prisoners, and torture, violence, humiliation and killing were largely absent from the camp.
Frøslevlejrens Museum, which is part of the National Museum, has three exhibition buildings.
In the main watch tower T1 and the former prison barracks H4, Frøslev camp is depicted 1944-1945.
Some of the rooms appear then, while in others there are exhibitions on the German surveillance of the camp, the prisoners' daily lives, the deportations to German KZ camps and the evacuation with the White Buses.
In Barak H6, the Fårhus camp is depicted 1945-1949 with a special focus on the German minority in Southern Jutland, which was particularly hard hit by the court statement.
High Park Southern Jutland
Address: Haderslevvej 464, 6200 Aabenraa, Denmark
HighPark is a climbing park located at Genner Hoel, eight km north of Aabenraa. The park has four lanes with each level of difficulty. The paths start at the ground, but quickly reach the trees. Each track contains a number of obstacles - including several cable cars over the deep gorge. The climbing park was opened last June by the married couple Tine and Poul Eriksen, who also run the nearby Genner Hoel Pancake House and Camping.
The highest place in the park is about 25 meters above the forest floor, and both the height of the terrain and the difficulty level of the courses present the participants with challenges. Therefore, it is also important not to choose a course that is too tight. The lightest lane - which is the white - is no harder than it can be handled by children.
Everyone is welcome in the climbing park, which is often visited by larger groups such as school classes, company classes and stag parties.
六、历史文化
Aabenraa was first mentioned in historic accounts in the 12th century, when it was attacked by the Wends.
Aabenraa started growing in the early Middle Ages around Opnør Hus, the bishop's castle, and received status as a merchant town in 1240, and in 1335 it received a charter. During the Middle Ages the town was known for its fishing industry and for its production of hops.
Between 1560 and 1721 the town was under the rule of the Dukes of Holstein-Gottorp.
The town's glory days were during the period of the 1750s to c. 1864, when ship traffic was at a high growth rate with trade to the Mediterranean Sea, China, South America, and Australia. It possessed a good harbour, which afforded shelter for a large carrying trade, Aabenraa having the Danish monarchy's third-largest trade fleet, after Copenhagen and Flensborg. The city had a number of well-known shipbuilding yards, which were known for their fine ships. The most famous of these was the clipper Cimber, which in 1857 sailed from Liverpool to San Francisco in 106 days. Fishing and various small factories also provided occupations for the population. Aabenraa’s many beautiful old houses and the large captains’ manor houses on the Løjt Land peninsula, built during this period, testify to the prosperity generated by these voyages.
From 1864 as a result of the Second War of Schleswig it was part of Prussia, and as such part of the North German Confederation, and from 1871 onwards, part of the German Empire. In the 1920 Schleswig Plebiscite that brought Northern Schleswig to Denmark, 55.1% of Aabenraa's inhabitants voted for remaining part of Germany and 44.9% voted for the cession to Denmark. However, since a plurality of votes in the surrounding Aabenraa municipality voted to join Denmark, the town was thus ceded to the Danish crown.
After the 1948 Danish spelling reform, which abolished the digraph Aa in favor of Å, there was fervent resistance in Aabenraa. The town feared, among other things, to lose its status as first in alphabetical listings, because the letter Å is the last letter in the Dano-Norwegian alphabet. A later revision of the spelling rules allowed for retaining the Aa spelling as an option. While the municipality of Aabenraa and most local citizens use the Aa spelling, Åbenrå remains the option recommended by the Danish Language Board.
