You will pass the town Mosfellsbær and drive by the mount Esja. Then you will see a small town on your left side and turn left by the gas station and drive the Brautarholtsvegur almost to the end but you will see our sign when you should turn left.

The Brautarholt Golf Club (GBR) was established in 2011. The first nine holes on Brautarholt Golf Course were opened in 2012 and in 2017 the golf course was expanded to 12 hole golf course. Brautarholt golf course was opened in 2012 and is situated just outside of Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. When you play golf here you can both experience the beautiful nature with amazing natural view as well as have a view over Reykjavik.
A hamlet has developed at Laugaras, where there is a very active thermal area and many greenhouses produce vegetables for the domestic market, and the domestic animal garden Slakki is popular among children of all ages. Laugaras is the domicile of the county physician and a health care center.

1. Holiday house
Czy holiday house in the country side where up to 8 people can sleep. Vorsabær 2 is situated only 80 kilometers from Reykjavík. In the house there are 2 bedrooms, one of which has a double bed and the other a bunk bed with a double bed below. Besides there is an 18 m2 sleeping loft with 3 beds. We also provide a crib on request. There is floor heating and the kitchen is equipped with all necessary tableware and is included in the spacious living room with a TV. Outside the living room is a patio with garden furniture and a gas barbecue. The view from the house is breathtaking, looking east you can see the volcano Hekla and in winter there is a good chance to witness amazing northern lights!

2. Horse back riding
It is ideal for families and small groups of friends. Everyone can take part and the guides can lead the youngest children by the rein during the trip. We always start inside the riding arena where we will teach you all the basics and then we go outside and ride with you. There are good horses for both unexperienced riders and as well for experienced riders. You can choose between 1, 2 or 3 hours trips and even a day-trip for experienced riders which are 5 hours.
We also provide children tours where we lead their horses by the rein inside the riding arena for about 10 minutes. We accommodate guests to visit our farm animals and see a real icelandic farm! We guide you on the farm for about 1 hour and you get the opportunity to spend some time with our animals to get to know them and pet them.

Brautarholt is a large farm and church on Kjalarnes. In Kjalnesingasaga is the story of Helgi Bjóla's settlement in Kjalarnes. He left Andríður, an Irish man, Brautarholt to live in. Off the coast is Andríðsey, where there is a protected nest.
Brautarholtskirkja: The farmer in Brautarholt had Brautarholtskirkja built in 1857, the church carpenter was Eyjólfur Þorvarðarson from Bakki in Kjalarnes. Reverend Matthías Jochumsson served the church from 1867 to 1873. In 1958 and then in 1987, thorough repairs were made to the church.
Catholic churches were dedicated to Nicholas and belonged to the Kjalarnes Thing. Bjarni Thorarensen (1786-1841), poet and pioneer of romanticism together with Jónas Hallgrímsson (1807-1845), was born at Brautarholt. Bjarni became a county official for North and East Iceland in 1833 and held the position until his death. His works were published in Kvæðir (1847, Ljóðmælar I-II (1935).From 1964, a grass flour factory and later a grass pellet factory was operated from 1972 to the year 2000 at Brautarholt. Since 2012, a golf course has been operated on part of the earth.

Music Experiments is a music festival that lasts for 5 days. The festival has a history of 37 years, but the first experiments took place in 1982. About 10-12 bands make it to the finals and the top three bands receive a grand prize. The most promising instrumentalists are also chosen by a jury, but the audience chooses the most popular band by telephone voting. In recent years, the final night has been broadcast all over the country by Channel 2, and in 2016 Ríkissjónvarpið began broadcasting the final night live on www.ruv.is.
The music experiments provide a great opportunity to follow the grassroots in the Icelandic music scene, and bands such as Of Monsters and Men, Samaris, Vök and Between Mountains have emerged victorious in recent years. The evenings will be March 30 - April 2, 2019 at 19:30 and the ticket price for each evening is 1500 ISK.
